A devotee of Sri Swami
Vishwananda asked the following question of Mahavatar Babaji.
"Dear Swamini: I have
one question to Babaji. I hope it is possible to get an answer. What is the
nature of my present hardships with Swami Vishwananda? Is this a kind of
punishment?"
Mahavatar's Response:
Jai Gurudev,
The nature of the
SatGuru, the Avatar is to teach each one what we need to know to reach the goal
of life. The nature of man is to find the Divinity within ourselves and
become God-Self-Realized. This is the Divine Plan for mankind. This is the
purpose and great blessing for being born on Earth for all people. Everything
the Guru does is to further us on our chosen path back to God of whom we all
are a part. Therefore, any great joy, emancipation, sorrow, difficulty or
hardship we perceive as having with the Guru is only Love expressed in such a
way to further us on our spiritual path, the Bhakti Marga Path of Love and
Devotion. No one is special to the Guru, for like God, he Loves all equally.
Sri Swami
Vishwananda teaches: "I am not special to God because I am a
Swami; God Loves all equally."
Look within
yourself and notice what needs changing and then, with Love, simply make the
changes necessary that the Guru is bringing to your conscious awareness. The
Guru is already free and does everything for the devotee to help us attain our
liberation.
