Power in Thought - Mahavatar Babaji Today

Thoughts rise and fall within the mind constantly. It is said rightly, "As one thinks so is that one." You see, thoughts create your daily way of living and being. Your Guru Master, Sri Swami Vishwananda continually teaches you: "It is of utmost importance to control your thoughts., difficult, yes?"

Once a man in India lived in the high Himalayas as a yogi. He practiced for his sadhana; mediation, yoga asanas
and he walked the path of bhakti, devotion to God. He thought only of bathing in the Ganges each day in warm enough weather, keeping his fire burning constantly, which meant gathering wood and using yogic powers to keep it burning without wood, eating one meager meal a day, and meditation. This way of life was very simple and one of sacrificing or giving up the worldly duties that most of mankind choose to live.

This man's brother brought him food supplies from time to time and checked on him. The rest of his days were spent in meditation and walking in devotion to God. His thoughts were totally focused on this sadhana. His brother lived the life of a householder with a family of wife and two sons. He lived in the Vedic Tradition of work, meditation, pujas, abishekams to his Deity and charity to the beggars who came to his door daily. This brother’s thoughts were always on the bhakti path of devotion to God. When he did his family duties, he chanted the name of God until God was constantly in his thoughts, both day and night.

Both of these brothers reached such a high degree of total surrender to The Divine that they reached moksha, liberation, while living. They lived two very different life styles, but their thoughts were controlled and they remained amidst different environments in total accord with bhakti, devotion and love of God.
Watch and control your thoughts and know that thoughts have the power to change your life.

Love and Blessings,

Mahavatar Babaji
