Developing Unconditional Love

itunes pic
The opening question of the most recent Satsang given by Sri Swami Vishwananda at Shree Peetha Nilaya, Swamiji's international centre in Germany, on the 25th of January.
In this question Swamiji talks about the differences present between the limited love humans feel for one another and the unconditional, unlimited love that one can have for God, as God has for us.
Bhakti Marga (meaning path of devotion to God) stands for a family of individuals from all over the world who dedicate their life foremost to God. The main centre is located in Springen, Germany.
Sri Swami Vishwananda is a spiritual master from the island of Mauritius and founder of Bhakti Marga.

Finterprint of The DIvine

FINGERPRINT  OF THE  DIVINE

The Divine has created The Fibonacci Spiral
And its mathematical numbers,
Which repeats itself throughout creation.
So it is that this sacred geometry is a clue to the
Human experience on Earth.
The simple nautilus shell shows clearly
This sacred form which is a mathematical formula
That God created to form all the awesome,
Incredibly beautiful galaxies
And the human being as well.

The Fibonacci Spiral stands as a sentential
For man to see in the repetition of its form
The awesome Creative Power of the
Fingerprint of God!

View your own fingerprint and know
That it is your unique life-gift from the Creator
And individual Identification within the Oneness.
Then boldly look into the creation as Science has
Given a glimpse, for Science and Spirituality
Are One even as the whole of Creation is One.

You may know, thereby, that God,
The Supreme One,
Knows what He is doing and He keeps
The Creation in balance and harmony
Through mathematical formulas which
Never change:
The nautilus shell, the human being,
And the galaxies above our heads
Show the Fingerprint of God
Through the mathematical formula
Of the identical formation of the
Fibonacci Spiral within the Oneness
We have come to know as “The One.”

Our own Premavatar Swami Vishwananda
Can be found to be like this “Fingerprint of
God, The Fibonacci Spiral”.
He knows what He is dong at every minuscule second
And whatever he does or says
Is for the benefit of the devotee, the disciple,
To guide that one through His own Avatar Fingerprint
Given to Him from God.

Our Satguru bestows Grace,
With the Greatest Love,
Physically, Ethereally, Spiritually
And from His Heart
Which contains, “Just Love,” leading us
Back to the Divine, from whence each One
Comes to Earth.
All this our Avatar gives through
His individual Avatar fingerprint. . .
Each time He gives His Darshan
As He leaves His Avatar Fingerprint
On Each forehead and at the
Medulla Oblongata at the back of the head.

Creation's fingerprints are like
A chain of diamonds glistening
In the Light and Love of God
Through His Fingerprint indelibly,
Magnificently and mysteriously
Shinning continuously throughout eternity!
OM and Amen.

The Mark of The Avatar

Experiences with Gurudev
Once I asked Premavatar Swami Vishwananda, when I first knew him: "From where do the poems come that I write, Swami?" I thought he would tell me the name of one of my etheric guides, from whom I knew some of the poems did come. He replied, "They just come to you." I did not understand why he would not explain more clearly, until much later. It was his duty as the Satguru to help me from within to know from where the poems come. Most of them simply are inspired from the "I," who I am and who we all are - "Just Love." Some call this, The Higher Self, the I.

I wrote Swami this following poem, which prompted my question from where the poems come. I have shared it before, but I always like to share it because he said: "I like your poem (which I had written for his birthday). Write your poems about the Guru and we will make a book." You notice he did not say any particular Guru, just the Guru, in general. Swami is the most humble person in a body that I have ever met. But then, I haven't met anyone who remotely resembles who he is. He is an enigma, mystery, a Master, an Avatar. In the hundreds of poems I have written since that day he spoke to me about the following poem in 2007 on his birthday, he has not said one word about any of them that I can recall. He rarely praises on the outside, at least this is my experience, but he pushes from without and pulls from within to lead you to the center of the Self, The "I" that we really are at the center, the heart of the "I." This is the "mark of an Avatar."

The Guru’s Manifested Holy Ash

An urn carries sacred ash of the Guru
Spun by his human hand,
Brought forth from the depths of his soul,
The essence of his Self,
No beginning–No Birthday–No end.

His devotees gather to partake
Of the Ash—the bounty of his wisdom.
The Guru’s Ash conveys the meaning
Of life, the everlasting Truth,
Which is this. . . . . . .
Love is All There Is—the Divine.
Fish do not know the wisdom
Of the Guru’s Ash—
That they are One with the All.
In total unawareness,
They don’t know that they are fish
Swimming through God.

Humans strive lifetime after lifetime,
Even a million or more,
To reach the truth that lies within
The wisdom of the Ash.

All material things, be it Guru’s body
Or the Ash of wisdom he conveys,
Eventually return to the eternal —
“Dust thou art, and to dust
Thou shalt return."

But the Truth of the Guru’s Ash
Stands as a sentinel of the Divine —
Like an urn full of water poured from the
Guru’s hand into the tranquil, celestial
Himalayan Lake Manasarovar,
Sending ripples of Love
To the shores of the Divine.

Kumbh Mela 2013

Kumbh Mela 2012
Kumbh Mela is the largest gathering of people for a religious purpose in the world. Millions of people gather on different places for this auspicious occasion. Kumbh is a Sanskrit word for Pitcher, sometimes referred to as the Kalasha. Kumbh Mela is celebrated four times every 12 years, the site of the observance rotating between four pilgrimage places on four sacred rivers: at Haridwar on the Ganges river, at Ujjain on the Shipra, at Nasik on the Godavari, and at Allahabad on the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna and the mythical river Sarasvati. In 2013 from 27th January the Purna Kumbh Mela will be held on Allahabad which occurs every 12th year.

Beloved Premavatar Swami Vishwananda will be in India at the Kumbha Mela this year, 2013
Kumbh Mela 2012
Kumbh Mela 60 Years Ago
“Few spectacles on Earth can compare to the great six-week Hindu pilgrimage, the ancient Kumbh Mela, during which literally tens of millions of people make their way to the river Ganges in order to bathe and worship. The 2013 Kumbh Mela takes place at Allahabad (Prayag) in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh.
Sixty years ago, in 1953, LIFE photographer James Burke chronicled an earlier Kumbh Mela in a series of pictures that, for reasons lost to time, were never published in the magazine. Here, in the midst of the 2013 Kumbh Mela, LIFE.com posts a series of those images — photos that capture something of the raw intensity and almost overwhelmingly sacral nature of the celebration’s rites.”

Lord, When Willl You Save Me

Premavatar Swami Vishwananda

Like the Great Sages said: "A judging mind is like a swamp in front of the mansion of the Lord." You will fall into it and drown yourself. This is what human beings always do. They chant "I, I, I," and  they drown in it. They don't realize they are drowning, because their mind is so focused on the outside even though the soul is calling for the Lord, "Save me, save me, save me. When will you save me?" But here humans are a bit dumb. They would rather follow their stupid minds and let themselves be drowned than follow what the soul is asking, is praying for.

Mahavatar Babaji

Let wisdom lead you home to eternal life through your Satguru’s manifestation into your world. The winds blow at different velocities and in different directions in each age. Let it be known that they all end at the same gate to freedom, Unity With The Divine. Your eternal home lies, like the crown jewels, in the heart of each of you.

Stand Firm Within One's Self

There was a Saint Charbel, who died in 1898, yet He cured a woman of long-standing paralysis in 1993. So things like this, even if it is only one person, how many times do you hear of it? - Very few. It needs sometimes something big like a catastrophe so that people realize and change. It's sad, but that's what people hang onto. Through negativity they become more negative. That's why one has to stand firm in one's Self.

Many Teachers in Life

Once somebody went to a Master and he saw that the Master was so blissful. So, he asked him: 'Tell me, who is your teacher? Why are you radiating so much light?' Then, the Master said: I don't have one teacher. I have twenty-four teachers.' So the man asked 'Who are these twenty-four teachers?' The Master said 'First, above all the teachers, I've learned from my parents and above all, first, I have learned from my mother, who held my hand and made me walk. So, my mother has shown me how to stand on my feet. Secondly, I have learned discipline from my father, who disciplined me, who sustained me and showed me how to sustain myself.'

He never mentioned anybody else apart from the mother and father. The rest he mentioned was about everything that he had seen: the plants, the animals, he learned from every small insect and all together, he had twenty-four teachers. He had learned humility, patience, joy, happiness - all these qualities just from nature. So, if you observe nature carefully, you will learn a lot! This was when there was not yet the Name of God, when there was not any specific form that we now give Him. Of course, when one is centered and trusts oneself, trusts one's feelings and knows that the inner Guru which is seated in the heart will reveal Himself, the inner Guru will reveal Himself!"

Mantra

Last week while some of us were with Premavatar Swami Vishwananda, someone asked him for a mantra. He replied: “You want a mantra? – OM Namo Narayanaya.” He often gives this mantra.

Peace In Every I

Do you want liberation? Make it strong in your mind; make it strong deep inside your heart. Let it get fulfilled on the outside. You are this light and you all can merge back into this light. You have to want it, and this want has to be very strong. It has to be the most important thing in your life. There are many Divine incarnations. They all come, they all teach, they all go. People at different times assimilate it in their own way. But we are living in such an age right now that it is very easy to attain Self-Realization. We just need to be simple with ourselves in the mind. When I say simple, I mean just to Love

PEACE  IN  EVERY  I

Frost-bitten people walk with heads down
And the windows to their souls tightly shut.
Oh, man, if you could perceive the soul in
Its entirety, you would marvel at the
Creator’s Love and generosity in making
Humanity in His own image.

Mahavatar draws a circle and the sign
Of Peace in the dirt floor of his Cave,
Reminding us of the story of Christ
Writing in the sand just before the woman
Who would be stoned to death
Due to committed adultery:
"Let the one among you who is without sin
Be the first to cast a stone at her." (John 8: 7)
"Judge not, least ye also be judged,"
So said the Christ.

As Mahavatar writes in the dirt floor
We sit together like friends
Peacefully watching the sun sink
Behind the horizon of the high Himalayas,
As the blue-gold sunset
Fades into the purple twilight hour.
Peace is given by Mahavatar at times
When we most have the lack of it.

O womankind and mankind, kneel on your knees
When nightfall comes to thank the Lord for your
Life, your day, your children, your sustenance
And your time on Earth given by Him at your
First breath and sustained daily in your time.

Worms in the Earth know their place and
Run away from the hoe and the plow.
So it is with humankind when they blow out the
Candle of Love in their hearts as life gets difficult.
Then many become disobedient and
Run away from the laws of the land
And the Creator of life and the all.

Bring yourself to the point of humbleness
And you will find Peace, just as
Mahavatar Babaji drew its image on his cave floor,
Reminding you that Peace of Mind comes with the
Understanding that all life comes from The Divine…
Within you.

If you want to be happy, you will be.
If you want sadness, you will have it.
If you want life to be lived in dharma,
You will have this in abundance.
If you want ice cream or healthy carrots
In your life, you will have what you desire.
If you want Peace, you will have peace.

Above all of this, if you have Love,
You have God, and with God
All things are possible!
You, your own self, choose
What it is that you desire.

Choose God, Love and Dharma,
Right action, and you will be
Happy Evermore!

Walking On The Right Path

When one walks on the right path, there is always victory. When one walks on the right path, for the right reason God will always be by his side.

You have to be truthful towards your spiritual guide, you have to be truthful towards your Guru, your Master, because when you don't surrender toward your Master, when you are not truthful towards your Master, you can't become truthful with yourself. If you are false towards your Master, you will always be false towards yourself. And when you are false towards yourself, of course, God will never reveal Himself.

Why Do People Worry and Have Panic Attacks? Gurudev Responds

In and Q and A session recently, Gurudev was asked this question by a lovely young woman, who at the time looked perfectly calm and healthy with no stress visible on her face.

Q:
“Why do I worry all the time?” Then she gave a long list of times throughout her day and night when she worries almost constantly.

Gurudev’s Response:
“People who worry like the excitement it brings.”

Swamini Vishwalakshmianandama
Knowing that excessive worry and fear frequently cause panic attacks, I did some research on panic attacks [adrenaline rushes]:

Excessive worry can result in fear and panic attacks.

Adrenaline is a hormone produced by the adrenal glands during high stress or exciting situations [as Gurudev responded to the question]. This powerful hormone is part of the human body's acute stress response system, also called the "fight or flight" response. It works by stimulating the heart rate, contracting blood vessels, and dilating air passages, all of which work to increase blood flow to the muscles and oxygen to the lungs.

Learning to recognize the body’s tendency toward these highly charged states and altering behavior accordingly can reduce the length of time a person stays in the charged state, and reduce the body’s continued need to produce adrenaline to cope with danger that does not really exist. Many times, people who experience high “fight/flight” reactions actually amp up their own stress by their coping mechanisms, creating more adrenaline boost than is needed. Learning to recognize the body's tendency toward these highly charged states and altering behavior accordingly can reduce the length of time a person stays in the charged state, and reduce the body's continued need to produce adrenaline to cope with danger that does not really exist.

Letter From Mahavatar Babaji

My 4-year-old grandson, Reid, stayed with me last night on a sleep-over. He picked up a picture of Babaji  from the side table by my bed and asked, "Who is this girl?" I replied that the picture was of a man. He asked: "What is his name?" And I told him, "Mahavatar Babaji." Then he picked up a picture of Gurudev and asked, "Who is this?" I told him: "The person in the second picture is Swami Vishwananda and he is a friend." Then I told him that if he ever is sad or in trouble he could talk to Babaji or Swami Vishwananda in his thoughts and they would help him.
–Swamini Vishwalakshmianandama
Letter from Babaji:
From the time children are born they are ripe for the beckoning as to training them in the ways of the Lord. Every opportunity should be taken to educate them in spiritual traditions. This does not mean in the way of 'preaching' at them. Rather, lovingly answer their questions in a simple way that they can understand, as in the example given above.

Once there was a young boy in my training from the time he was born. Step by step I helped him retain memories of his Divine nature. He was an Avatar but it is God's plan to awaken the memories in steps to show mankind that the Vedic and Hindu Tradition works for mankind when he is committed to remembering his Divine Nature.

When this boy grew older and was about 14-years-old, he knew already his mission in this lifetime and in this world. In the greater truth, he always knows everything. He now travels the world awakening people to their Divine Nature in his Darshans, Satsangs and singing the name of the Lord. He teaches people that japa, chanting the name of the Divine, continuously, can lead to liberation.

Likewise all of you can train young people to keep their memories of the Divine in a natural way. Then, it is up to the young person to find the Divine within the heart or to fall into the maya and conditioning of the world. But remember to do this in a natural rather than a 'preaching' or forcing way. Of course, it depends on the development of the soul when it takes incarnation as to how advanced the memories are and which ones the Divine will allow the soul to retain.

Be at peace with the world and your life,
Mahavatar Babaji

Attaining Purpose of Your Incarnation

What you have to attain is the Grace of God. Attain the love so that it can fill you up fully. You can achieve really the purpose of your life, the purpose of your incarnation here.

Materialization of Dancing Lord Krishna Statue

One evening, during dinner, Swamiji gave Santushta half of a very acidic fruit and said

"Try it! It tastes good!" Swamiji himself ate the other half and made a rapt face and said "Ahhh sooo sweet! I love it!"

Santustha screwed his face at the taste of the sour fruit and asked Swamiji "Who are you to like something like that?!"
Swamiji: "Do you really want to know?"
Santushta: "Yes, why not?"
Swamiji then turned to him and told him: "Put your hand on my heart”!

Santushta laid his hand flat on Swamiji's heart. Then Swamiji said after a moment.

Swamiji: "Have you no fear?"

Santushta: "No, why should I?"
Swamiji: "Take it”!

Santushta did not understand - So Swamiji repeated it, "Take it”!

Then slowly Santushta closed his hand (as if to take something from Swami's heart as instructed), and suddenly he felt something in his hand. He opened his hand and looked: there was a wonderful statue of Krishna!

Swamiji had just materialized a statue of a dancing Lord Krishna in Santushta's hand.

Human Love is Limited - Divine Love is Unlimited

Respectfully, we request that no one copy this entry unless you copy only a small portion and then refer the reader to:   http://www.virtual-babaji-vishwananda.blogspot.com/2013/01/human-love-is-limited-divine-love-is.html
"The love for a human being is limited. The Love for the Divine is Unlimited; it never finishes.

"In every sinner there is a Saint and in every Saint there is a sinner."

- Premavatar Swami Vishwananda

A Life-Story by Swamini Vishwalakshmianandama:

The epic story of the life of the Great Avatar Ram, the Ramayana, was written by Valmiki. He was the first to write in the style of Indian Slokas, or verses, in his great work, the Ramayana. Later, among the many Hindu scriptures, the Mahabharata, the Puranas, and other works were composed in this 'verse' style.

Valmiki is a Hindu sage who lived approximately at the beginning of the first millennium B.C. He was born into a Brahmin family (Priests) of the family of the Great Sage, Bhrigu. His dharma, or fate some might say, however, took him into a family of robbers who raised him. This family stole and killed for their livelihood. His pre-birth dharma eventually brought Valmiki into the presence of The Seven Sages and the Great Sage Narada. Through the repetition of the name of Ram, Ramanama, Valmiki attained the supreme state of 'maharshi', or Great Sage.

There is a saying: "In every sinner there is a Saint, and in every Saint there is a sinner." So it is with Valmiki. When I was about nine years old, the poem, "The Highwayman" was my favorite poem. It is a ill-fated love poem where a Highwayman and a beautiful young Inn-Keepers daughter die, due to circumstances created  by people who disapproved of their love connection and the Highwayman's life style. Much later in life, it was revealed that it was not the love poem aspect that attracted me the most, but rather 'The Highwayman" hero that was attempting to awaken my atma or soul memory of Valmiki who was a robber, or Highwayman, who became a Saint.

A few lines follow that sent shivers over my whole body each time our fourth grade teacher allowed me to choose what she would read after recess (time for play outside after lunch in the American school system). At that time I did not know that these "shivers" were Shakti energy or the Holy Spirit Christ told His disciples He would send after His crucifixion and did send to them at Pentecost and to everyone born thereafter. And, I did not know that what sent the Shakti at nine years old while hearing this poem was that my atma, my soul then residing in a nine-year-old body actually had lived in the liftetime of Rama and knew the epic story Valmiki wrote as the Ramayana.

This poem, The Highwayman, was a reminder from my higher frequency self, the big 'I' to my little 'I' sitting in a school room listing to a poem of a robber which connected me at a soul or atmic level, to Valmiki who was a robber turned Saint, like the Highwayman who sacrificed his life for the love of the Inn Keeper's daughter did a kind of 'saintly action' through his choice of death. It was not to the human love aspect, which is limited, that my atma, at nine years old, was bringing to my attention, but rather, to the Divine Love within the Highwayman and inn-keeper's daughter that was revealed when they, in essence, died for the love of the other.

The Highwayman
by Alfred Noyes

Verse I

The wind was a torrent of darkness among the gusty trees
The moon was a ghostly galleon tossed upon cloudy seas,
The road was a ribbon of moonlight over the purple moor.
And the Highwayman came riding --
Riding--riding--
The Highwayman came riding up to the old inn-door. . . .

From Valmiki's Ramayana
Translated by Swami Rama

(These verses are from the "Ayodhya Kanda")

Verse 24

Kaushalya's tears were the libation (Ram's mother)
Offered with great lamentation
She did yearn to follow him (Ram)
And in the forest live with them (Ram, Lakshman, Sita)
To leave one's consort is a sin
So Ram did counsel her within.
Resigned that Ram would leave this place,
Kaushalya did with blessings grace
Her son, in hopes that she would see
Raghav  [or Raghu] come back happily.

Verse 25

All the blessings did she shower
At Prince Raghav's [or Raghu''s] parting hour.
Through the tears they said good-bye;
On Providence they would rely.

Verse 26

Ram turned his steps to meet his wife [Sita]
And tell her of his altered life
The grief within he could not hide,
Through valiantly Prince Raghav tried.
He told her of the boons received
And how Kakutsha deeply grieved.
And counseled her in gentle ways
To virtuously pass the days
Impeccable in her behavior,
She would stay within their favor.
Practicing austerity,
Her life would then find charity.

Verse 27

Wounded by his spoken word
Sita wondered how she heard
Such words unworthy of a prince
Adept in sword and mace and lance
She would never stay behind
And leave her lord alone to find
His way through unknown foreign land,
The one who held her wedded hand.
Her devotion was eternal
And her love for Ram was vernal.
She would dwell at Raghav's feet
Only there would be her seat.

Verse 28

Ram portrayed the forest danger,
Forest life could her endanger
Stoic would their life become,
To treachery they could succumb.
He told her of the forest bear
And how on fruits and roots they'd fare,
And how they'd fast for many days,
And they would live by austere ways.
She should then remain at home
While in the forest he would roam.

[Then, as the story goes: Ram, Lakshmana and Sita wander the length and breadth of India for 14 years of Ram's exile. Ram lives his entire life in perfect Dharma, Love and Compassion. During the 14 years of exile, He performs many miracles, healing many people and liberating many  who have been waiting Vishnu's incarnation on Earth as the Avatar Ram.

Ram eventually kills the demon King of Lanka, Ravana, a part of his mission to Earth in this incarnation. Then Ram returns to Ayodhya as the rightful King and continues to rule for thousands of years.

THEN:

From the Uttara Kanda:

Verse 109

At the dawn King Raghav rose,
His life on Earth he now would close.
The rishis, devas, followed hm,
Women, choldren all of them,
His brothers and his brother's wives,
Chose with him to end their lives
The titans, banars, every beast
Did go with him as did the least.
No one in the town remained,
Raghav had their lives sustained.
Silently King Raghav strode
Barefoot on that dusty road,
But all were full of happiness,
With Ram they felt delightful bliss.

Verse 110

The sandy shores of Saryu came
And Brahma, like a brilliant flame,
Addressed Lord Vishnu there on Earth
Who as a man had taken birth
Ram's abode with Him did wait,
Eternally at heaven's gate
All the brothers then did go
To heaven with their hearts aglow,
And all the devas called their name,
Proclaiming their eternal fame.
Every banar, beast and man,
Titan, to the river ran.
Instantly they were absolved,
Surya had their sins dissolved.
All of them to heaven went.
Even animals were sent.
Their pristine forms they did regain.
These devas that on Earth did reign.

Valmiki
wrote this epic tale,
And Brahmadeva does it hail.
To purify and sanctify,
So it does one glorify
Longevity, prosperity,
Attends on one with verity.
For he who does recite this tale
Adversity cannot prevail
Glory to that ageless One
Resplendent like the peerless sun.
[This is Ram / Vishnu, whose family name
Is Raghu or Raghav of the Sun Dynasty. Ram previously had
left his twin sons to rule India. Lava ruled North India
and Kush ruled South India].

Ringing In The New Year

Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple of Colorado
Castle Rock, Colorado, USA
Vaishnavism - Worship of Narayana Vishnu and Maha Lakshmi

After being at Shree Peetha Nilaya, Premavatar Swami Vishwananda’s ashram, for six months, returning home recently brought happy news from a friend. A new Sri Venkateswara (Vishnu)  Swamy Temple of Colorado is nearing completion, only a 20 minute drive from my home. Along with a friend, the New Year's Celebration Puja was attended yesterday in the almost finished temple, January 1, 2013. The Temple inside is not complete but the architectural drawings look beautiful

The Gods were invoked and their presence was definitely felt! The puja was beautiful wherein a “ringing of many bells” was wonderful. To my astonishment, Vishnu appeared and placed a gold necklace with  a round medallion with Maha Lakshmi on it in bas relief.  Narayana Vishnu did not speak, and I do not know the reason or the symbology of this “etheric” gift except these gifts are always a blessing.

We felt, also, love in our hearts for our own Premavatar Swami Vishwananda, but as we know, His chosen home place is in Germany for the present.

Happy New Year to Our Bhakti Marga International family,
Swamini Vishwalakshmianandama
