Between A Rock and a Hard Place -Babaji

Out of the mind and into the heart takes one on a journey from the mundane, the everyday, to the sublime, awe-inspiring, transcendent, magnificent world of Unity Consciousness. ‘Rocks sit in the eyes of man as if made of stone’, I have said before. What does this mean, literally? When children play and boys meet girls in the sandbox of time, what happens? The girls tend to mimic their mothers, even in today’s world, and use the sand and toys to play house such as cooking and tending to a baby doll. The boys generally portray their fathers by using trucks, bulldozers, sawmills, cars, etc. Why is this? We may call this play-acting, social conditioning.

So it goes lifetime after lifetime. Many of you reading this method of communication over the Internet and the scholars, students, disciples, and devotees of Swami Vishwananda have broken out of the “sandbox” we are calling social conditioning. You are exploring the rarified air of Atma Kriya, the Saints and Martyrs, the Hindu Gods, holistic or ayurvedic medicine, well being and food, yoga asanas, sustainable living, and many alternative lifestyles that you did not learn in the sandbox of time. The sandbox is good; I will not say it is not.

There comes a time in each lifetime where a crossroad appears as if out of the blue clouds above you. Then a crisis time occurs where you decide if you will stay in the sandbox condition or if you will begin to broaden your horizons and collect and integrate the data that is available to you which comes from other dimensions of being. So it is the students of Swami Vishwananda, who have chosen to go the distance with him, have had to stretch their imaginations and their minds to go within the Heart to even begin to understand who one is in reality, and what He, the Spiritual Master, represents in this incarnation. And that has brought many to this crisis point of renunciation of the world-at-large: following Krishna while leaving duties and husbands as the gopis did at that time or being among the flock, the “sheep” of Jesus.

You have seen in life or in pictures when a baby bird opens its mouth for the mother to place food into it until the bird is mature enough to feed itself. So it is with your decision to move beyond the sandbox of comprehension and human behavior. You wish to become free and to tap into the connective tissue of the Krishna-Christ Consciousness energy of Unity. Swami Vishwananda has said: “I can put the food into your mouth but I cannot swallow it for you; you must do this for yourself.” And So It Is; the mother bird feeds her young and the Spiritual Master feeds his flock whether, metaphorically, he is teaching: “gopis, sheep or birds.” In the beginning and in the end without beginning or end, We Are One!

Let us come together as a world family taking our positions and duties in life as One Being, united in the common goal of Unity created from the Heart Space of that known to you as Divine Love evermore. I am Babaji, your true heart companion now and forever, Amen and OM.

Between A Rock and a Hard place: The origin of the saying is taken from the ancient Greek mythology of "The Odyssey". In his efforts to return home, Odysseys must pass between Scylla and Charybdis. Scylla was a horrible man-eating monster that struck from above on the cliffs (the "rock") while Charydbis was a treacherous whirlpool (the "hard place"). Hence "to be between a rock and a hard place" is to have a dilemma.

Kahlil Gibran on Love

When love beckons to you, follow him,
Though his ways are hard and steep.
And when his wings enfold you yield to him,
Though the sword hidden among
his pinions may wound you.
And when he speaks to you believe in him,
Though his voice may shatter your dreams
as the north wind lays waste the garden.

For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you.
Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning.
Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your
tenderest branches that quiver in the sun,
So shall he descend to your roots and shake them
in their clinging to the earth.

Like sheaves of corn he gathers you unto himself.
He threshes you to make you naked.
He sifts you to free you from your husks.
He grinds you to whiteness.
He kneads you until you are pliant;
And then he assigns you to his sacred fire,
that you may become sacred bread for God's sacred feast.

All these things shall love do unto you that you may know
the secrets of your heart, and in that knowledge
become a fragment of Life's heart.

But if in your fear you would seek only love's peace
and love's pleasure
Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness
and pass out of love's threshing-floor,
Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh,
but not all of your laughter, and weep,
but not all of your tears.
Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.
Love possesses not nor would it be possessed;
For love is sufficient unto love.

When you love you should not say,
"God is in my heart," but rather, "I am in the heart of God."
And think not you can direct the course of love, for love,
if it finds you worthy, directs your course.

Love has no other desire but to fulfill itself.
But if you love and must needs have desires,
let these be your desires:
To melt and be like a running brook
that sings its melody to the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness.
To be wounded by your own understanding of love;
And to bleed willingly and joyfully.
To wake at dawn with a winged heart
and give thanks for another day of loving;
To rest at the noon hour and meditate love's ecstasy;
To return home at eventide with gratitude;
And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart
and a song of praise upon your lips.

Receive love with an open heart, and it will grow always.
If you receive love with an open mind, it will have its limitation.
-Sri Swami Vishwananda

Open your heart to love for everyone and all things around you.
Merge your consciousness into the oneness the Divine
has designed. In this way you tap into the stream of
consciousness that provides your sustenance

TRANSITION -Sri Swami Vishwananda

Click on Image to Enlarge

Sri Swami Vishwananda Text: Do you know what is the most regretted thing in life? At the moment of dying, the soul sees the amount of time God has sent, how fortunately, for him to realize Himself that he has let go of. That’s the most regretted thing of the soul when one looks backward. Have you ever thought about that? Do you know about this? No? Nobody has died? Well, when you die, the moment you are dying, just before you leave this body, the Angel of God appears and shows you the opportunity of life that you have let go and shows you that you have to come back again. That’s why there is a lot of regret, but when the soul comes back, again, the karma of the [previous] body is forgotten.

The Inner Chamber of Your Heart -Swami Vishwananda

Christ meant for you to go into the inner chamber of your heart
and speak with God.
Looking at the world with Divine eyes, you will see that the world is simply the radiated light of God shining through everything. Keep trying until you have come to this realization and never lose hope. The moment you lose hope, you lose everything. The moment you say, “I can’t do this,” you will not be able to do it. Challenge your fear! Keep reminding yourself that you are part of God. You are in His Divine hands and He will never let go of you. Never! He always will be nearer to you than the breath or the air you are breathing in.

You try to imagine how close God is with the mind. It’s difficult, isn’t it? The mind will never let you imagine God. When you start thinking with the mind of the heart, then you may realize Divinity completely. How does one think with the heart? Meditation is an important element in thinking with the heart as you sit with yourself in silence. Jesus said, “When you pray, go to the darkest corner of your house, close yourself in and talk with your Father.” Christ meant for you to go into the inner chamber of your heart and speak with God. Talk with your true Self, and you will receive an answer. So, what exactly is in this inner chamber of the heart? Therein is just love, nothing else! -Swami Vishwananda

Letter from Mahavatar Babaji: Gifts of the Spirit

The gifts of the spirit come to those who have given unto the world of man their hearts wrapped in Divine Love. Time sometimes dulls the gifts of the spirit as the recipient falls into maya’s game. So it is with every one of you on this planet. Various stages of attaining the Divine Love within man can be studied in today’s time as you observe yourself and others. Often one on the spiritual path, who is climbing back up the chakra energy centers within the spine of man, creates envy within himself for the place on the path and the gifts others exemplify. Remember that these ones have done the work and have attained the energetic connection to the Divine that these gifts of the spirit embody and radiate outward into creation. And so must you who wish to once again reconnect fully with Divine Love within your heart to move forward.

When this happens for you, this envy, my chelas, re-enter the chambers of your heart and remember that you, too, have had these gifts of the spirit in your past time and you will have this again in your future time. Do you want sincerely this Love Divine your teacher Swami Vishwananda talks about with you? We must rid ourselves of this envy, through purification of our chakras, to attain the Divine light that projects the gifts of the spirit from within one’s self into the world of man and into creation’s cosmos beyond time.

Why do we wish to rid ourselves of envy? Tell me now before reading further? Be assured that I hear you, and if you trust fully, I will respond in a way that you will know that we are having an internal conversation. This “still small voice” is a gift of the spirit that resides within each soul and each heart. Some of you have heard the story of my disciple wherein I began teaching my student to control the mind with a lesson of juggling tennis balls. You see, the student played tennis in the life game at that time. Like this, I will meet you where you are on your path, and I will teach you what you need to know at this stage of your game of life. Swami Vishwananda patiently reaches out to each of you in numerous ways in his spiritual work for the planet and man. So it is that we can move forward all together as a world family in unity. So Be It.

Envy: jealousy, greed, desire, resentment, spite.

Mahavatar Babaji Quote of the Day

The firmament showers energy to you on the spiritual path as you are receptive to its vibration. Likewise the fish in the sea, the lion on the range and the birds in the air resonate with the nature of life. Open yourselves as if you were a silver chalice ready to be filled with the nectar of the Gods. Receive the love and the blessings of the Divine that are ever ready to rain upon you. You must prepare yourself and be ready to receive by opening your heart. -Babaji

God Created Two Worlds on Earth

Often one asks: “Why do we need a Guru? Many people say, “I don’t need one. I don’t need a teacher. I don’t need somebody to guide me. If you don’t need a teacher, you don’t need a guide, why do you go to school? You don’t need it? The same applies on the spiritual path. God created two worlds with this world; one is the spiritual world and one is the material world.

The material world consists of a few things which everybody runs after; wealth, fame, power. At last they are running after all the things which can exist only in this world and which are limited to this physical plane. So, when these few things are removed from the people who are running after them, what is left? There is nothing. Zero! You ask these people, “What have you achieved in life?” They will say, “Nothing,” or they will talk about something which is within this limitation.

The spiritual life, the spiritual world is the opposite of all this, because one craves to know the Divine, one craves to understand the Divine, one longs for the Divine. It is not just without an objective, without knowing where one wants to go, it’s difficult and mostly nowadays not many people know. Only the teacher can give you this knowing, only a Paramguru (the Guru beyond, Guru of one’s Guru), a Satguru (teacher who takes you to God) can give you this. The rest will take you so far, to certain limitations and then what happens? One always stays in this circle.

Letter from Mahavatar Babaji: Your World is Changing

Click on Image to Enlarge

Seattle, Washington in the USA is a city by the sea. Throughout the world such cities bring one’s attention to the changing coastlines around this world where humanity lives in today’s time. As your scientists inform you, time is relative and time is a mind construct. However, until the consciousness changes in the coming Sathya Age of Truth, Peace and Abundance, So It Is.

I am encouraging you, at this time, to look into your life and notice what you, personally, are doing to contribute to the pollution and self-destructive behavior of humanity that assists in results of changing climates and coastline deterioration. Man is on the brink of breaking the natural laws that the Creator set in motion to the point that will result in annihilation of life on your planet without Divine Intervention. That help is being given man. Yet, the Lord of Light deems it for man’s best interest to continue to let man play with matches, like children, until the final reckoning. And then the change in consciousness will come. It is preordained, as today we assure you.

Today and in following days, in your meditations, please consider your life and look into it and notice and change that which you can to alleviate the self-destruction playing itself out on your planet now. Yet, still this change in consciousness, world-wide, is in some time to come. I endorse you viewing the video of Swami Vishwananda speaking about the next fifty years of “What will Happen with our Earth in the next fifty years?”. I ask that you review it, even if you have seen it before. Please consider being ones that do not only “talk, talk, talk” like your teacher, Swami Vishwananda, informs you on this video.

I am Babaji, along with the forces from on High, who have the best interest of mankind at heart, hand and help for you and your planet now and in times to come. -Adonai Babaji

Note, Utpalavati: This is the first time in my recall that Babaji has signed himself, Adonai Babaji. Therefore, we are providing the definition of the word, Adonai. The word is used for men, angels, and the true God of Israel. By this signature, Babaji says that he means: “We all are one”, whether Jewish or any nationality and no matter where in this world or in the cosmos our physical forms and consciousness exists”. In his letter of today, Mahavatar Babaji is conveying: I, Utpalavati, live in the United States and Babaji used a reference for the world coastlines, Seattle, Washington, USA, to represent the coastlines of humanity and the planet, in total. Babaji is always inclusive and never exclusive when he speaks to us:

Adonai, plural form of Adon: A title variously used to refer to men, angels, and to the true God of Israel, meaning “lord, master, owner.” From the Ugaritic adn meaning "lord" or "father" and the Akkadian adannu, "mighty.

Washington, USA Coastal Changes - Sea level rise will shift coastal beaches inland and increase erosion of unstable bluffs. Major ports likely will be able to accommodate rising sea level at their facilities but adapting low-lying coastal transportation networks that serving port facilities (e.g., trains, highways) will be a significant challenge. Shellfish production in the state will possibly be negatively impacted by increasing ocean temperatures and acidity, shifts in disease and growth patterns, and more frequent harmful algal blooms. Mahavatar Babaji Quote of the Day

The Feet of the Guru Transmutes Your Burdens:

Mahavatar Babaji ECard

Swami Vishwananda answers Ramayotee's Question:
Question: In my current AK-course just today we emphasized the importance of chanting God`s name as often as possible. Concerning our AK-practice, I would like to ask Mahavatar Babaji (who referred the question to Swami) why we focus during Nada Kriya on the right ear? The question repeatedly was asked by course participants.

Swami's Response: Referring to the question: The right ear is more sensitive in hearing than the left. And also because it's far from the heart, so the beating of the heart will not affect the hearing of the cosmic sound OM. That’s why it's said to concentrate on the right ear, whereas the left ear is connected directly to the physical beating of the heart. Much love sv

Letter From Babaji: Seeing Beyond

The Christian Bible: 1 Corinthians 13:12 says – “For we see through a glass darkly.” Numerous understandings of this verse have come and gone through the centuries. When you view the beautiful rainbow and the seven colors it displays: violet, blue, cyan, green, yellow, orange, red, this is the visible spectrum of light the human eye can see. Science has invented instruments that can view colors beyond this range of human sight. Let us take the meaning that “Seeing through a glass darkly,” is a metaphor for mankind’s sight restriction of the human eye seeing within the spectrum of light the seven colors in the rainbow produce.

The Divine has placed also with the human aptitude, the way to perceive this “glass” or the vision, of man when he develops the “eyes to see from the heart.” Christ Jesus said often, “If you have the eyes to see…” Christ was speaking of the eyes of the heart and its inherent strength to see, hear and perceive into the cosmos.

Within you is the means to create Cosmic Consciousness. In this time of evolution, which is continuous, more and more are awakening into Cosmic Consciousness. It is time. How does one see through the “glass”, the light spectrum, into the greater spectrum of light we know as Cosmic Consciousness? The Atma Kriya that Swami Vishwananda and his disciples teach is an expedient way to find these “eyes of the heart” which lie within you like a brilliant spectrum of light that awakens the kundalini within your physical form and takes you on wings of eagles to the promised land of Cosmic Consciousness. So Let It Be.

I AM Babaji, your eternal champion, Immortal and so are you!

Kundalini: A Sanskirt word that literally means coiled. In yoga practices it means a force of Shakti. This Shakti or kundalini lies coiled at the base of the spine until awakened.

Gurudev Tells Story of Rama and Ahilya

You know the word, the name Ram: Three letters, R. A. M. This word sounds so simple, but with great power. Shiva said to Parvati, "Think Parvati, when I Sit in meditation the only name which is in my mind and in my consciousness is Rama, because this simple name can
liberate everyone. It can grant instant liberation...

There is in the Ramacharitamansa the story when Ram was crossing (the ocean) to Lanka to liberate Sita. Rama was a great king, a manifestation of Lord Vishnu and Sita was a manifestation of Lakshmi, who was abducted by the evil king, Ravana. Rama had to go and liberate Sita... His father (Ram's father) was married three times. One of the wives said to the father, "You have said to me whatever I ask of you, you will not refuse me". Ram was to be the king. One of the wives wanted her son, Bharat, to be king, but Bharat was younger. In the tradition, it is like that: all the sons take upon themselves the rule of the kingdom. So she (the wife of Ram's father) said to the king, "Grant me the wish that you promised me. I want your son to go into the forest for 14 years".

So he (Ram) went into the forest and as he was going in the forest there was a great saint called Ahilya. Ahilya was cursed to become a stone because Indra tested her, taking the appearance of her husband, but she didn't know about it. When her husband found out, he cursed her to become a stone, saying that, "Only the Lord will liberate you". So Ahilya was a big stone. As Rama was passing by the forest he came to that spot where the stone was lying and he touched with his feet the stone, and instantly the stone was removed. She turned back into her real form. In that moment, Ram said, "Ahilya, I would like to grant you a boon of blessing, ask me whatever you want. I will give it to you". Ahilya said, "My Lord, I have been waiting many lives here. For many centuries I have been waiting for this moment to attain that just the dust of your feet could touch me and liberate me. I don't ask for any boon. The only boon that I ask is that I never forget about your name. Even if I take a birth as a pig, may I always chant your name, because only your name can grant me liberation.

Why do you think in all religions they chant the name of God, recite the name of God?... Chant the name of the Lord so that you realize the unity between the Atma (soul) and the Paramatman (God). When you realize this unity between the Atma and the Paramatman, what will stay? Only the Paramatman will stay because the only reality of the Atma is the Paramatman. The only reality of the soul is God. Your soul wants to merge with and become one with God. It wants to attain his lotus feet. The one who has realized this will join. Just in the simple name Ram, it can be granted. -Sri Swami Vishwananda

Let the Divine Live Through Us

"Just Love" the Book

It is important to analyze whether we need something or not. It will lead to simplicity when we first analyze what we really need. And the simpler our life is, the more freedom we will experience. While we live in the world, it is essential to not let the world live in us but to let the Divine live through us. To trust God is very important. -Sri Swami Vishwananda

Letter From Babaji: Math Assignment for You

High heeled shoes were once in vogue for women of all ages. They are transmitters of the Law of Attraction. And, of course, men have similar life issues for their gender. Sensible women of all ages today, rarely if ever, wear this type of shoe. Why is this decision strange for most still today? The ego of man caters to the senses, the desires. In the instances of the most uncomfortable to the body high heels, they are worn to appeal to the sense of attraction. We are not condemning or condoning the wearing of high heels. And we are not advocating that there is something fundamentally wrong in the method of attraction. We simply are using this as an example of how the sense of attraction may lead women to wear a highly uncomfortable item of apparel in order to attract.

According to the strength of the “magnetic moment” magnets, through the negative and positive field, literally crash into each other.
-A magnet is defined as:
-An object that is surrounded by a magnetic field and that has the property, either natural or induced, of attracting iron or steel.
-An electromagnet.
-A person, a place, an object, or a situation that exerts attraction

This magnetism exists in the sense desires of man. One must learn to control the mind which causes the attraction through the thoughts allowed to run free. So it is that control of the mind is fundamental in the cooperation between the mind and heart of man to bring into harmony thought, word and deed which is the Royal Road to Enlightenment.

It is simple math as to how you create everything that is in your life experience, isn’t it? If you accept this as truth, then how is it that many of you with whom I work in your Atma Kriya and in your meditations today still are what you term unhappy? You know the simple mathematical formula; now what are you doing about it? One still perceives himself as the “doer” until enlightenment. Avoidance is not the answer to this mathematical equation. Facing one’s self (the ego-self) and the Self (atma, soul) is the spiritual mathematical answer, do you see? Know thyself and be free! –Babaji

Note Utpalavati: After Babaji transmitted this message, my mind wandered back to 2006 when I first met Swami Vishwananda. Not wearing high heels at darshan was one of the many things I had to deal with in going to darshan—my ego being what it was at that time. Somewhere along the line with Swami Vishwananda something changed for me around this issue. Now, I rarely wear high heels and only when appropriate in the world as it is today with its dress codes in certain situations.

I now realize that detachment to even this small thing, like dominoes in a line falling when the first one is touched lightly, has brought me to detachment from many other material things in my life. Swami Vishwananda is my most effective teacher in this incarnation through his lovingly subtle way of being the catalyst for life change and detachment. Could this be attributed to the power of attunement to the love and teachings of the Satguru? I realize this to be so. I know this to be truth!

Babaji Ecard and Quote of the Day

Dear Virtual-Babaji-Vishwananda Reader:
We are working on changing the format posting procedure and there is one glitch we have not found a solution for as yet today. Therefore the post of today: "Letter From Babaji" intended for today will be posted tomorrow, Thursday.

Meanwhile, please enjoy Babaji's "Quote of the Day" and one of his Ecards.
When the rain pours and the wind howls like a banshee in the night, one may feel that the forces of nature are against him. So it is that the Lord of Light comes to you in the storm of your sadhana practice and thereby stirs your soul to awaken. Atma Kriya awakens the soul, the atma, like a banshee in the dark of night. –Babaji (banshee – phantom, spirit, supernatural being)

Swami Vishwananda Darshan 1/7/11:Listen

Mahavatar Babaji Quote of the Day

The sacred cow of India will become a time of the past in Earth time. Why? It will have served its purpose for the time Lord Krishna interpolated it into the morass of the human condition for the time that is now upon you. You will free yourself of this time of Kali Yuga which you live in now. The human family will become one. –Babaji
