Surrender at Guru's Feet

When one realizes his unity with mankind, all minds become transmitting stations through which he can work through at will.

(Jagadguru Mahavatar Babaji to Lahiri Mahasaya in Autobiography Of A Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda.)

I am Babaji... from the majestic Himalayas, the sacred mountains of India that stand as eternal sentenils of Love, Devotion,Trust and the everlasting Divine Will of Unity. My offer of spiritual assistance is eternally vigilant, even as the great Himalayan Mountains have stood throughout time as spiritual sentinels for mankind. I ask sincerely: Are you ready? From: Unity With The Divine

The Guru's Feet - Present Time Model For Surrendering

Dear Readers: In this first Forum Letter, I will begin with a small introduction to the Virtual-Babaji-Vishwananda blog. I will stay within the intent of this blog as I write to you who are interested, and those of you who feel you very well could resonate with what is to transpire on this Virtual-Babaji-Vishwananda blog.

We come in peace and Love and an all-embracing understanding of what is to come forth from this forum for communication. I come to you all who feel resonance with the book Unity With The Divine and my letters in that forum. I come to each and everyone who wishes to further one's steps upon the Path of Devotion, Bhakti Marga, that is eternally present within the Oneness Vibration in which we all exist. In this forum, from within the heart of each of us, we will focus upon the path of Bhakti, Devotion, which includes the attributes of Love, Patience and Unity.

Babaji's Guidelines for Participants:
Please ask yourself, "How is it that I have come to this point in my incarnations whereby I am considering listening within my heart to perceive if I resonate with words upon a screen of light projected through the airwaves into my computer through the Planetary Internet System. We wish always in this forum to lead you to go within the heart for all your resonance with all that you chose to interact with on this planet and beyond while you are embodied. We, therefore, have three avenues to explore together in this forum.

One: We always go within our own heart searching for resonance with everything we read or that is written here. We simply use this forum, and the assistance that I offer, as friends who walk with you on your path of Bhakti. We read what others write here and we go within our heart to connect with our resonance. Should we not find resonance in our hearts, we simply and lovingly let what we have read rise back into the ethers form whence it came. I am suggesting that you trust that what you have released will be recycled and transformed into Divine Love. Do you perceive that it could be effortless and guilt-free for you? From your heart, will you resonate? In this forum that is our number one, as well as standing question.

Two: We walk with The Divine, through Love, in all that we read and write here. Our path in this Internet Forum is the path of Bhakti, Devotion, resonating with the whole of creation, Bhakti Marga, divinely containing within it the attributes of Love, Patience and Unity.

Three: We respect and Love unconditionally all those who choose to read, write and energetically connect with each other through this blog.

Babaji's Guidelines for Author, Moderator of Blog
Babaji provided for the author and blog moderator, the following guidelines: "Come forward into light. With this blog identified as Sri Swami Vishwananda's vahana, one of the vehicles present in the world today that has been created to support his mission for transformation of people into unconditional Love, bring this blog home to Love. Do this by assisting others to voice the concerns in their lives along with their challenges as well as their times of trial and their small and maha (great) triumphs transporting themselves into light.

Let it be that the focus of this blog is the same as in Unity With The Divine (
www.KriyaOMPress.com). We wish to provide a pathway to freedom and enlightenment through providing a safe refuge where people may grow together into Love Divine. With Love in my heart and diamond-faceted symbolic tears in my eyes, I project into this blog my Unconditional Love for each and every person who chooses to "click" into its readily available transformational treasures. Let it be so! I send you my eternal Love, my dear friends of present contemporaneous time. Please remember from your heart, that I know you one and all, and you know me. You have but to remember!

In Unity With The Divine, I wrote to all resonating souls on Earth at the present time: “ Throughout the centuries I have revealed myself to the few whom I choose to carry my Message of Living Light of Love to those of mankind whom I am working with throughout their cycles of incarnations on Earth. My disciple who is serving as author and moderator for this blog comes to you through that resonating vibration with me.

The Guru's Feet --Present Time Model For Surrendering

The ritual of bowing at the Guru’s feet or touching the Guru’s feet needs to be comprehended in today’s time in a completely new sense. What better place for present time interaction than the Internet with its facility to connect or link people world-wide in an instant. This is reminiscent of a time long ago in antiquity when the minds of man consciously were connected with the Oneness through energy fields that linked or contained the wholeness of the One Mind. This Internet connection we have on this Blog can become a mind link to the Oneness we all exist within. Welcome, my friends.

Through surrendering to the feet of the Guru, to be most effective for your entry into the mind of Oneness, you must be the one with the yo-yo in your hand. It is not upon the Guru to do all the work, my friends. YES!, surrendering to the feet of the Guru is as valid today as yesterday and tomorrow. I am advocating only that in present day it is time to rethink what surrendering to the Guru’s feet really means in order for it to work effectively for you.

I wrote in Unity With The Divine: "…The traditional model of surrendering body, mind and soul to the Guru, the Spiritual Teacher is passé, obsolete. In present time the Guru or spiritual teacher functions like a gyroscope, a balancing wheel. With his guidance you must do your own inner and outer transformation into enlightenment! The Divine Plan for surrender in today’s time is to the Guru Within, your own Divine Self, God Within. You surrender or transform your ego into Divine Will with the true Guru or Spiritual Teacher’s assistance (embodied and/or etheric). That is all."

You symbolically release or surrender the yo-yo at the Guru’s feet by touching the Guru’s feet and receiving the Guru’s energy into the yo-yo (usually your hands or head). You are symbolically one yo and the Guru is the other yo… intentionally light-hearted here. Then you mindfully bring the Guru’s Divine energy through your physical form, while allowing the energy the Guru has graced you with to flow through the physical form and link with the heart, your Guru within. In this light-hearted way, my present day Internet friends, for those of you who choose to do so, we may begin to understand the present day Guru-disciple relationship as well as begin our association in this Virtual-Babaji-Vishwananda blog and in this first dissertation and invitation to Interact on this Internet Mind Link.

A Small Story: A devotee of Sri Ramana Maharashi once approached him and asked him if he could prostrate to him and touch his feet. Ramana Maharashi replied: “The real feet of the Guru exists only in the heart of the devotee. To hold onto these feet incessantly is true happiness [the real Guru’s feet within the devotee]. You will be disappointed if you hold my physical feet because one day this physical body will disappear. The greatest worship is worshipping the Guru’s feet that are within one’s self."

Welcome to Virtual-Babaji-Vishwananda Blog and adieu until we meet again.

Utpalavati Writes (posted in conjunction with Babaji's first Forum Letter):

Imprinting Technique of Babaji: Babaji appeared and dictated His First Forum Letter via his Imprinting Technique which I (Utpalavati, Author-Moderator of Blog) will explain as clearly as I can. It is as if what happens between Babaji and myself when he transmits is like an invisible present day computer with a camera with which we hear and see each other.

I sat at my computer contemplating what to write for this blog's entry, "About Utpalavati." I had meditated and was still in the meditative state looking deep within for inspiration and what to write. At the exact moment that I felt complete with what I had written, an audible male voice, contained within a sound similar to the vibration of a tuning fork, said: You don't hear this one, do you? I recognized the sound and vibration of those words as what I know to be the Voice of Babaji. Intriqued as to what the meaning of the words could be, I tuned into the vibration of Babaji's Voice. Then Mahavatar communicated the message above in his first Forum Letter for this blog through using his Divine Imprinting Technique that he identifies as "mind to mind and heart to heart communication.

I find that defining Babaji's Imprinting Technique is difficult to place into words! I can say that it is like vibrational particles of light imprinted into my brain waves that literally translate into crystal clear English language words (not sound as we term 'audible'). Babaji communicated to the venerated Indian saint, Lahiri Mahasaya, "When one realizes his unity with mankind, all minds become transmitting stations through which he can work at will." After I heard Babaji's audible voice, I realized that he had been attempting to speak with me using his Imprinting Technique and I had been so engrossed in my writing that I had "tuned him out!" Babaji appeared somewhat amused and I felt as if I were five years old and refusing to listen to my mother saying, "No, you cannot have candy now, it is time for dinner." True to his promise that he can work with any mind as a transmitting station, and since I was not 'listening' to his Imprinting Technique communication, Babaji said clearly, with sound, into my human left ear: You don't hear this one, do you? (Meaning I did not hear his Imprinting Technique words).

Message Embedded in the experience: For me, and perhaps all of you who are interested, there was a message embedded in the above experience: When we almost exclusively tune into our own vibration (me, myself, and I) we disconnect from the awareness of our divinely inherited right to be connected into the unity of the oneness of creation. I certainly tuned out Babaji in the above experience by almost exclusively focusing on myself. Then, he used the way we humans communicate with each other; he spoke audibly into my left ear.

When I tuned into Babaji's vibration after hearing his words in my ear, Babaji instantly appeared holding a yo-yo in his right hand as he seemed to concentrate or mindfully to send the yo-yo out and back into his hand in the traditional manner of a functioning yo-yo. Babaji stood by the banks of the Ganges with the sprawling village of Rishikesh, India around him and across the sacred river behind him. [Hrsikesa is a name of Lord Vishnu that means ‘lord of the senses’. Rishikesh is a holy city for Hindus located in the foothills of the Himalayas in northern India. The place gets its name after Lord Vishnu who appeared to Raibha Rishi as a result of his tapasya, austerities. (Reference Wikipedia). I was among a group of devotees and disciples that Sri Swami Vishwananda took on a pilgrimage to India in 2008. Rishikesh was one of the sacred pilgrimage places we visited.

As Babaji stood on the banks of the sacred Ganges River at Rishikesh, village people were busy walking, riding motor bikes, selling merchandise from street stalls, pilgrims from foreign lands walked along with street dogs sniffing at their heels; and sadhus with begging bowls at hand sat hunkered down along the streets, all mixed together in the melee of daily life that is Rishikesh, India. The every-day life in Rishikesh was happening normally on both sides of the Ganges River without anyone taking notice that the Immortal Jagadguru Mahavatar Babaji stood in their midst playing with a child’s toy, a yo-yo. (Reference Wikipedia, the yo-yo, to me, has an interesting history.) [Note: I humbly and respectfully report for those of you who have not read Babaji’s Unity With The Divine, that I am completely aware of myself in two dimensions simultaneously. In this case: I am aware of being at my computer typing this to post on V-B-V blog, and simultaneously I am wholly aware of myself in Rishikesh, India by the Ganges River with Babaji speaking with me.]

Babaji transmitted his first Forum Letter as he continued throwing out and returning the yo-yo he held in his hand. He seemed to be demonstrating mindfully doing two things at once: playing with the yo-yo and transmitting his letter simultaneously. From his letter, does it seem to you as it does to me, that Babaji is suggesting we do the same with the transference of energy from the present time Guru as we choose to receive it with a different perception than perhaps we have had before?

It is elementary; isn't it? In the present day when, in general, Gurus are being taken to task by their devotees, and also in the world-wide media, Babaji is advocating that it is time to file in the past the traditional model of surrender to the Guru body, mind and soul. Babaji is not saying that the traditional model was wrong or that it did not work for its age. However, he is saying that it is time, NOW, to model responsibility for yourself and your own enlightenment. The Guru in present day, according to Babaji acts like a gyroscope, a balancing wheel, between you and your enlightenment. That is all!

Does Babaji, in his letter mean that the true Guru’s feet have no power to transmit energy or that devotees should not aspire to touch the Guru’s feet? No! Babaji is simply requesting that people mindfully become aware of their intent when touching the Guru’s feet. If the intent is to become a Jivan Mukti, freed while living in physical form, one must mindfully intend to connect the experience of touching the Guru’s feet and receiving what he offers in energy transference and link that literally to the heart, the Guru, the God within the self.

The present day model of surrendering to the Guru’s feet simultaneously is to surrender to the Guru’s feet and at the same time surrender the ego to the Guru Within, God Within your own heart. The Guru-Disciple relationship is as relevent today and tomorrow as it was in the distant past! Many of us know of people who have prostrated before a Guru, touched his feet, and tell of receiving great energy transference from the Guru. Then later we may observe that some of those ones leave the Guru’s sphere and energy field. A few occasionally take action to demean the Guru’s credibility and sometimes attempt to influence others by shouting loudly on bogs or other media that their former Guru is not a genuine Guru or Enlightened Master and they were mistaken in believing that the Guru’s state of consciousness was highly evolved. On occasion it appears in the illusionary world that a particular Guru's state of consciousness, through his actions is questionable. It is personal choice how each chooses to perceive anything in the world of maya, illusion.

TO ALL READERS:
Babaji invites readers comments. We invite you to interact on this blog by posting comments about the three following questions or to post a comment of your choice.

Questions we invite you to ask yourself and post a comment if you like:

1. Babaji entitled this, his first letter for this blog: “The Guru’s Feet: Present Time Model for Surrendering." Babaji stated: “The ritual of bowing at the Guru’s feet or touching the Guru’s feet needs to be understood in a completely new sense.” Readers, what do you think?

2. Could it be that those ones who demean the Guru after severing the physical relationship with his physical form have chosen not to link the Guru’s energy transference with their own heart center, their own Guru, their own God Within, the true self?

3. Is it easier to blame the Guru for anything one perceives to go wrong in one’s relationship with the Guru?

YO-YO: I spoke with a representative of the Yo-Yo Jam Company, that produced the following promotional video. I ordered a yo-yo for a friend just for fun. I was informed by the representative that the yo-yo, in present day, for many young people around the world has become helpful in assisting them to stop smoking. It seems the young people have discovered that playing with a yo-yo stops the mind from thinking of smoking (the yo-yo playing apparently stops the endless mind chatter similar to what happens for most people in deep meditation).

Dear Utpalavati, dear Babaji
thank you for giving us the possibilty to communicate with you. When reading the text I realized that I didn't know the meaning og touching the Guru's feet at all. Now I will put more attention on my heart when bowing down before my Guru and in my interaction with him. This text helped me a lot in my understanding.

Not long ago Swami Vishwananda mentioned on a Satsang in Springen that we can't stand on the feet of the Guru, we have to stand on our own feet. I then realizied that WE have to take responsibility for our development. He can help us on our path, but he can't do it for us.
